Marcella Fitzpatrick Obituary

Marcella Fitzpatrick At peace with her family by her side on January 22, 2011. Beloved wife and reunited with her husband Vincent Joseph Fitzpatrick. Loving Mother of and will be dearly missed by Rosemary Fitzpatrick, Patricia (James) Fitzpatrick Lewis, Kevin Fitzpatrick, and Vincent (Lisa) Fitzpatrick. Dearest Grandmother of Shannon Green and Michael Stimmel. Great grandmother of Billy Green III and Shelby Green. Daughter of and reunited with her parents, Martin and Mary (Molly) Marrinan of County Clare, Ireland. Youngest sister of the late Mary Lynch, Sean Marrinan, Bridget Kelly, Nora Marrinan, Nancy Killeen, Michael Marrinan, Margaret Minihan, Joseph Marrinan and Agnes Tarpy, all of whom she cherished and is now with. Marcella (Massey), had many fond memories of her in laws including the late: Jim and Helen Fitzpatrick, Benny and Kitty Fitzpatrick, John and Mary Sullivan, John Tarpy and more, here and abroad. She is survived by many wonderful niece's nephews and relatives in the U.S., Ireland and England. Marcella left her beloved Ireland and sailed to England at the age of seventeen. She worked as a Banaltra Nurse in London for the duration of WWII. She returned to Ireland before sailing to America in September of 1950. Marcella met her beloved late husband Vincent in San Francisco in 1951. She was devoted to raising her family and later worked in private nursing, and was loved by all her patients. Marcella contributed to the building of St. Elizabeth's Parish Church, the United Irish Cultural Center, supported Hospice by the Bay and other organizations. A Special Thank You to Sheryll Sunga, Dita and all the staff of Amore Retirement Living for your love, care and kindness. Friends may visit Friday, January 28th from 4:00 to 7:00 with a Vigil Service at 7:00 Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave., Daly City, CA 94104. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 29th at 10:30am at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church 449 Holyoke St., San Francisco, CA 94134. Committal: Holy Cross Cemetery on Monday, January 31st 11:00am. Memorial donations may be made in Marcella's name to Alzheimer's Association.

Patricia became the dearest of friends, this past year. I met Marcella only once but I know she was a wonderful woman from the stories I heard. She raised fine daughter that blesses many. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
