I am Ms. O'Riordan who never taught Marcos, but who helped when his dear parents and sister came to Riordan HS and spoke about their son and brother. I am writing a memoir about my time as the drama director at Riordan, and am currently in Santa Fe on a writing retreat. What comes from being at a writing retreat? Well...today I am remembering Marcos and your family and the sign that Isabel had re-hung on the westbound wall of the tunnel on the way to the Bay Bridge. Every time I drove students back to Riordan from a field trip I would point out that sign and tell them the story of dear Marcos, and every time I drive anyone else I point out the sign. If I'm alone I say hello and say a prayer. I just wanted you to know that, and that I am thinking of you all. xo

I think of Marcos often. I visit him when I can. I do my rounds and see my sister, grandparents, and Marcitos. I think of you and your family too. It's nearly 20 years after losing a great friend and that is what friends are for... we carry on his memory.
