Mark Buchanan Obituary

Mark Allan Buchanan
February 5, 2020
Our hearts are so sad over the loss of Mark Buchanan on Feb. 5, 2020. Friend, son, dad, brother, musician, a force of life, dogs best friend Rags and Sebastien, has passed. All who knew Mark will remember the fun times and the love he shared. Born in Seattle, Wash., and lived in SSF, Sacramento, Fort Bragg, Folsom and San Francisco. Marks Native roots led him to rock/blues drumming and lifetime love of the early blues players and the power band. His singular regret was not becoming the 5th Beatle. Mark passed peacefully. He will always be missed. Mark is survived by his stepson, Bo Zweig; lifetime friend, Erica Zweig; cousins, Sharon and Robert Benjamin, Michael Bosse, James and Linda Doyle, Kathy Hawkes, Dick and Sylvia Salias, Gerald Salias; and many close friends/extended family. A memorial date is TBD.

I met Mark through my brother Jon in the middle 70s. To this day I share stories with friends about some of our great times together. I miss Mark. Does anyone know how his brother Greg is doing?

My name is Gary Johnsen. I am an 'ol friend of Mark's. I shared many fun times with Mark including a couple of rafting trips on the Yuba River near Downieville. He was a beautiful man with a soul to match. I am very saddened of his passing. You are now in a glorious place my dear 'ol friend.
