Marty Organisciak Obituary
November 12, 1951 - April 19, 2018
Our dear, sweet Marty passed away on April 19th at 66 years young. He lived life to the fullest, with zest, wit and a healthy jolt of sarcasm. He had a quirky, devilish style of getting to the truth of both matters and people, and was an observant chronicler of life. His presence is already terribly missed.Martin Frank Organisciak was born in San Francisco and spent his childhood in Daly City. He graduated from Jefferson High and joined the army. He spent two years in Germany during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he married Nancy, had his beloved son Matthew, and worked for Fuller O'Brien Paints.
While his first marriage was not meant to be, he met Ann shortly thereafter and theirs was truly a lifelong love affair. Ann's persona melded perfectly with Marty's brutally honest yet still buoyant view of the world. They both shared a wicked sense of humor and love for a good long chat, a great movie, or a lively tennis match (preferably with John McEnroe cursing up a storm.) Their love affair was one that you could root for, and even envy.
Marty had a successful career in the flooring industry for Shaw Floors and later opened his own flooring business in San Carlos with Ann. Together they moved from San Mateo to Sonoma in 2012, where he continued working in the industry until several months ago.
His passions included meaty movies (The Godfather, Rocky, Goodfellows, Rambo, etc.), sports (tennis, the Raiders, fly fishing, wild boar hunting, a good bet) and a healthy appreciation for beautiful clothes and cars.
He is survived by his wife Ann, son Matthew, sisters Julie and Sue, brother Stephen, stepdaughters Kristi, Camilla (husband Brendan) and Gina, grandchildren Stella, Reed, Julian, Brendan Jr., Catherine, and James. He is predeceased by his parents Kaye and Frank.
There will be a celebration of Marty's life Saturday, June 16th in Sonoma. In lieu of donations, please give to your favorite charity in Marty's name.
