Marvin Gralnick Obituary

Marvin Gralnick In Greenbrae on April 10, 2006. Beloved husband of Pauline and the late Fern Gralnick: loving father of Neil (Bonnie) Gralnick, Howard and Leland Ruderman: devoted grandfather of Aron and Christopher Gralnick and Lily Ruderman. Served as chief petty officer in the US Navy during WWII at the age of 18. Marvin retired from the SF Fire Dept., after which he became the general manager and co-owner of the DeSoto Cab Co., retiring after 36 years. He served on the SF Chamber of Commerce Board, past president of the SF Taxi Cab Assoc. and a past member of the Board of the California State Taxi Assoc. Member of Cong. Beth Sholom and past president of the congregation's Young Married Guild. He will be missed by his family and many friends for his love, friendship and great sense of humor. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 14, at 12:30pm at Home of Peace Cemetery Chapel, Colma, with Interment to follow at Salem Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in Marvin's name to the American Heart Assoc., or the Jewish Home, 302 Silver Ave., SF, CA 94112. SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPEL (415) 921-3636

Marv was a great person and great manager of deSoto Cab. I guess I have know Marv for about 40 years. He had many, many good friends and I am honored to be one of them. I, and many, will miss his good humor and even his sarcasm. Again, he will be sorely missed.

We remember Marv well at the Yellow Cab Co, I remember him from De Soto. We'll all miss him.
