Our beloved brother Michael passed peacefully in San Francisco in the early morning hours on October 20th 2021.
Michael was born on July 29th, 1959 in Fairbanks Alaska and is the loving son of the late Coleman and Rosemary Halloran. Michael is, and shall always be the beloved and eldest brother of Stephen (Mary), Thomas, Martin and James (Alicia) Halloran and is the cherished cousin of Maureen Mulry and Eileen O'Donoghue. He is the loving uncle of Dennis, Brendan, Nora and Julia Halloran and Theresa Halloran Pena and great uncle of Elizabeth Rose Pena and is also survived by his uncle Pat Halloran in Chicago, IL and many other loving cousins and extended relatives both near and far.
Michael was a longtime resident of the Presidio Gates Apartments on Lombard Street and work at the San Francisco Presidio until its closing. Michael also was a volunteer at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco and gave freely of his time and abilities. As an avid sports fan Michael was often seen at the Giants games in San Francisco with his brothers, and was always in the know as to who was playing and where. Michael was a Boy Scout in his youth and achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout by receiving 21 Merit Badges. He was a graduate of McAteer High School Class of 1978 where popularity was his forte. In Michael's latter years his struggles were great, yet he persevered through the difficulties with a smile on his face and the willingness to be a part of life, on life's terms. He shall be greatly missed by all.
Friends are invited to visit with family on Tuesday, October 26th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at DUGGAN'S FUNERAL SERVICE – THE DUGGAN WELCH FAMILY, 3434 - 17TH Street, c/s Valencia Street in San Francisco with the recitation of the rosary at 7:00 pm. All are also invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, October 27th at 10:00 am at Saint Paul's Catholic Church on 29th and Church Streets in San Francisco followed by internment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma.
Charitable donations in Michael's memory may be sent to the Jewish Home for the Aged, 302 Silver Avenue, SF, CA 94102 or to the Saint Paul's Catholic Church Preservation Fund, 221 Valley Street, SF, CA 94131 and are preferred.
