Mr. Tierney was my English teacher my senior teacher at Pinole Valley High in 1993. He mentioned making wine and I asked him if old wine always meant good wine. I also remember him wanting tickets to see the movie Malcolm X. He asked me what my plans were after high school and I don´t remember any other teacher asking that. It´s unfortunate for me that I just missed him as I would have told him I am now a teacher at the same school district. Cheers to him and his family for a life well-lived.

To the Tierney and Taft Street families,
I was so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I hold very fond memories of working with Mike on marketing materials for the winery many years ago. I'll always remember is great humor and that twinkle in his eyes.
Sincere condolences to all,
Bonnie Rodecker Holm

Ride share in the late 50's early 60's in San Francisco, was hopping on the back of a K-Ingleside...scary was going downtown via the dark Taraval Tunnel at seemingly break neck speed...only 2 at a time was all the room there was hanging off the back, after several "K"s went by we'd regroup. Inglesiders made do with what they had..."Tiern's" was our leader...Be Happy in Heaven, Tierns...!

My condolences to Mike´s loved ones. I knew Mike from my high school years at Mercy. Indeed, he grew to be a wonderful man. I lost my dear husband of 55 years in 2022. So it is with empathy when I say my thoughts are with his wife and family.
