Nancy Bauer Obituary

Nancy Fulton (Graham) Bauer Passed away unexpectedly at 80 on January 4, 2010, in Sonoma, the town she loved for the last 10 years. Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Nancy graduated from the University of Manitoba and moved to Vancouver, BC where she met and married Leo Isaeff with whom she moved to San Francisco to raise a family. She worked as a bookkeeper for over 25 years at Jed Burns Company. She later married Peter Alan Bauer and lived in Fairfax for many years. Nancy was active with Scottish Clan organizations (Graham, Donald and Blair) and when she moved to Sonoma County became active in historical societies in Petaluma, Glen Ellen and Sonoma as an officer. She most recently became a Deacon at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church where she added to many lives in the Sonoma Community. Active volunteering with Friends in Sonoma Sharing (FISH) and Young Life was reflective of her truly generous nature. Nancy is survived by her children Alma Re (Phil) of Oakland, John Isaeff (Cindy) of Nevada City and Laura Isaeff of San Francisco, her sister Betty Freeze of Vancouver, BC, grandchildren Jennifer and Jeremy Re, the Bauer Family and nieces, nephews and many friends. Nancy's generous spirit and love of life will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. A Celebration of Nancy's Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 16290 Arnold Drive in Sonoma. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Nancy's honor to FISH and Young Life (through St. Andrews Church), and Clan Donald Foundation.

We knew Nancy through my uncle Forrest and aunt Helen MacDonald and enjoyed every meeting with her. In 1996 my husband Woody and I were vacationing in Sonoma. Nancy invited us to dinner at her lovely house in the woods. We had a very relaxing evening with her. She was particularly proud of her ceramic frog in the front yard that announced guests coming up the entry walk. We will miss seeing her again.

Nancy was a great friend to my Dad Pittsburgh-Jim McDonald. She was instrumental in making his surprise 80th birthday party a great success. We will always remember Nancy as a wonderfully generaous and kind person. She will most certainly be missed by all of those who loved her. I knew Nancy throught the Sonoma Valley Newcomers and the Sonoma Valley Republican Women Federated groups. She was always very active, friendly, generous and never forgot a name or a face. I feel lucky to have known her. She will be missed by all who were fortunate to have met her.

Nancy was a very generous person, she offered her services to many causes. I met her at a ACS fund raiser, in Petaluma, where she offered to cook a meal for 8 in someone's house.
We remained friends & attended many other fund raisers.
