I always called Ned my Uncle though he was really my Uncle's brother. He amazed me because my dad always said that he was the smartest person he ever met. Dad used to love to tell the story about how Ned got a C in college chemistry because he just did not like Chemistry. Yet he received straight A's in everything else. Dad said that he worked on the A
tom Bomb and I even remember Ned speaking to me about that. My parents and the Reeds used to travel together in their camper and Dad was always fascinated when the camper would break down and Ned could fix it. After my dad died I felt especially close to Ned because I could talk to him about Dad and I knew he thought my dad was as special as I did. My parents and Ned were business partners in several ventures. They "had each other's back" and trusted each other completely. I loved Ned's laugh. He was kind and generous and dependable. I am going to miss him.
