Patricia Ehrhart Obituary

Patricia Ehrhart

Patricia "Patty" Ehrhart passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard "Dick" Ehrhart and her son, Mark Ehrhart. She is survived by her children Janis Close, Rick Ehrhart and Jeanne Ehrhart as well as her grandchildren Tracey Close, Ryan Close, Sam Ehrhart, Rachel Ehrhart and Julie Fair.
Patty was born September 29, 1925 and grew up in Aberdeen, WA. She graduated high school in 1943 and went on to attend the University of Washington. When WWII ended, Dick came home after serving in the Navy. The two reconnected at U of W and were married in 1947. They then moved to Palo Alto to continue school at Stanford University where they also started their family.
After Dick graduated from P&S Dental School in San Francisco, the family moved to San Anselmo in Marin County. They bought a home in Sleepy Hollow where Patty lived for 66 years. All four children grew up there and visited her often with their own families.
Patty lost her husband much too early, but persevered and continued to entertain, travel, and work as a bookkeeper. She often visited North Lake Tahoe to see her children and grandchildren, but the holidays were always spent at "Happy's". A nickname given to her by her first grandchild. She loved that name!
Patty was a huge sports fan. She loved the 49ers and she and Dick were season ticket holders since 1957. She adored tennis and played until she was 88 years old. She was also a big fan of the San Francisco Giants and the Golden State Warriors.
Patty also enjoyed traveling, visiting many countries, and taking several cruises with friends and family. She was an excellent cook, bridge player, and seamstress. Patty loved her Sleepy Hollow community. She was an active member of the Legend Club and was affectionately known as the "Vampire Lady" for running the local blood drive for 40 years.
Patty moved to Aldersly, a retirement community in San Rafael where she lived until her passing. She was happy there but missed her pool. In the Summer, she swam nearly every day and lovingly tended to her roses. She loved that Aldersly had beautiful gardens. The family thanks all who cared for her there.
Patty lived a long and energetic life. She was loved so much by her family and friends. We are all so proud of her and thankful to have had her in our lives. May she rest in peace with her "Dickie". At her request, there will be no memorial for Patty, but she will always be in our hearts. "Here's to Happy"!

Saddened to hear she passed, sending the family deepest condolences. Patty was a great neighbor for so many years. I enjoyed her get togethers and Birthday party she gave for her neighbor friends, the delicious food she served (have some recipes). Lost touch when she moved to Aldersly after all my former neighbor Ladies had passed and there were no more get togethers.
Will treasure her memory and her son Marks.

Dear Family of Patty,
I am so sorry to learn of her passing. I walk by the house site so often and wonder how she is doing. I bet she sure livened up Aldersley. She was always lots of fun at Sleepy Hollow events and so kind to new families that moved in. I appreciate all she did for our community. My condolences to her loved ones.
