PATRICK MOLLOY

Patrick Molloy Sept. 12, 1928 - June 18, 2012 Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife Anne (nee Togher) and their children Joseph, Colleen, Mary (Michael [decesased]) Fitzgerald, Jacqueline (Martin) Hickey, Eileen, Thomas, Shannon, Deirdre, and Tara (Keith) Wilkinson. Proud and loving Grandpa to Daniel, Grace, Patrick, Conor, Bridget, and Aidan. Loving brother to Edward (deceased), Mae Grennan, John, George, and Peter of England, Thomas (deceased) of San Francisco and Teresa of Ireland. A native of Ellaghmore, Bonniconlon, Co, Mayo. At the age of 17 Dad went to England to work the farms and then later went on to work on the canals, bridges, railroads, and airports all around the country. After 12 years he'd had enough of England and sailed off for Canada. He eventually made his way to Chicago where he met a young beauty from Belmullet, Co. Mayo. A romance ensued and after a snowy February wedding they drove out Route 66 to California and never looked back. Through much hard work Mom and Dad raised 9 kids and built a successful construction business in San Francisco. Dad loved spending time at his house in Sonoma with his grandkids and beloved dog, Oisin. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 21st followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. at St. Anne of the Sunset Church, 850 Judah St., San Francisco. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 22nd also at St. Anne of the Sunset. The Committal will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 1500 Old Mission Road, Colma. The family would like to thank Dr. Joseph Spaulding, Dr. Derald Seid, Dr. Ken Hsu, Dr. Connor Tellis, Dr. Jennifer Van Warmerdam and all of the staff at St. Mary's hospital for taking such good care of our Dad. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
