I was fortunate enough to work with Pat at MMWD. He holds a place in my memory as one of the finest persons I've ever met, and his loss has been indescribably shocking. He loved Life. Having retired up here in 2003, I had no idea that Pat was ill. I'll never forget his generous laughter at my quips, his pictures of his trip to India with Christian, etc. He was a great story teller - a talent most of us have lost since TV - an interesting conversationalist and an intent, responsive listener, too! I am sad he didn't get to reach his retirement goals, living in an area where he could fish and hunt to his heart's content. I am late coming to this book, not realizing before that I could, but it feels good to pay homage to this fine man - even if no one else ever knows. I am unutterably saddened.-Sybil-

Pat and I were great friends in Junior High and High School and for a bit after that until we went in different directions. I was born just a few hours after Pat was and our grandmothers were friends at the time and were comparing notes on their soon to be born grandchildren. It wasn't till years later that Pat and I found this out by chance. So many good memories with Pat and the Orsini family (stomping grapes for wine in the backyard with our bare feet) and High School....band, ski trips and 4H camp. We had so much fun. Grad night Pat and I slept on my lawn in sleeping bags with a bottle of champagne.
Too many friends have passed recently due to Cancer. I was also diagnosed with Cancer and after surgery a year ago at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston I am continuing with treatment.
My thoughts are with Pat's Mom, family, Elena, Mara and Jimmy and remembering the good times Pat and I had.
