Cleo Jane Orsini, age 91, of Marion, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the DeWolfe Place in Marion.
Born on December 4, 1933, in Marion, Cleo was the daughter of James Samuel and Gladys Margaret (Sherman) Taylor. She spent her career in retail management with Meijer, where she formed many lifelong friendships that carried joy and companionship well into retirement.
Cleo was blessed with a creative spirit and a love for learning new things. A talented seamstress and quilter, she also enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and any craft that allowed her to express her artistic nature. She found peace and happiness in the outdoors, nurturing her flowers, tending to her pond, and feeding the birds and squirrels that visited her yard. Her green thumb and gentle affection for all living creatures were among her most cherished qualities.
From a young age, Cleo's nurturing heart was evident. She dedicated her life to caring for others, offering generosity, guidance, and unconditional love to all who needed it. She not only raised her own children but poured herself wholeheartedly into her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was always open, warm, and filled with the aroma of her cooking-never just a simple meal, but a full feast prepared with love. Cleo lived for her family, and her devotion to them remains her lasting legacy.
Cleo is survived by her loving children: Philip (Christine) Orcena, Teresa (the late Joseph) Lesko, David Orcena, and Margaret (Joseph) Niederkohr; daughter-in-law Debbie Orcena; grandchildren: Tony (Alyson) Orcena, Matthew (Rachel) Lesko, Marguarite Markley, Kathleen Markley, Tera (Josh) Holderman, Brandy Imbody, Marqie Morris, and Frank Morris; and great-grandchildren: Alexia Davis, Alena Schweinfurth, Derek and Ryleigh Holderman, Leo and Annabel Estep, Eliza Mayse, Carter, Mason, Emmaline Lesko, Josephine Orcena, and Vera Allison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Starner Orcena and Richard "Dick" Orsini; sons, Starner and Richard Orcena; siblings, Gary Alvin and Robert Eugene Taylor; grandparents who lovingly raised her, Adam John and Flora Dell (Lint) Sherman; and her uncles and aunt, Glen Alvin Sherman, Richard L. Sherman, and Mildred Ethel McGraw.
