Paula Goldstrom Obituary

GOLDSTROM, Paula (Klein) - Passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, September 26, 2005, at 91 years of age. A memorial service will held at Temple Sholom in Burlingame on October 9, 2005 at 2 pm. Born in New York in 1914, she survived the depression working and studying, and met her husband Kurt in 1941. After the war they moved to California where Paula worked as the head secretary in the district attorney's office for San Mateo County for 18 years. In addition, Paula held many positions in Women's American ORT, and for more than 50 years she was responsible for raising millions of dollars to build vocational schools internationally. As national vice-president she traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad, and was frequently honored as a keynote speaker. Paula is survived by Kurt, her devoted husband of 64 years, Foster her son in Oakland, CA, Leslie Babson (Henry) her daughter in Illinois, and grandchildren: Michael, Chantal, Blake and Derek. Donations in Paula's name may made to Women's American ORT c/o Betty Bernstein, 204 W. Poplar Ave., San Mateo, CA 94402.
