Peggy Silva Obituary

Peggy da Silva
11/07/1954 - 06/24/2025
Peggy died peacefully at her home from consequences of a primary immune deficiency (CVID). She lived most of her life in this City that she loved, and is a proud graduate of Mercy SF, UCLA and U of Hawaii School of Public Health.
Her career as a health educator and trainer ranged from supporting early childhood development nationally, to empowering senior citizens, to promoting sustainable eating. She inspired many with her never-ending desire to learn new things and practice her skills.
A woman of many interests and talents, she enjoyed cycling and ballet, sewing and swimming, cooking, canning, and connecting with family and community. She was a tireless advocate for the earth, local political engagement, and peace, with her lifestyle and actions even more powerful than her words.
Peggy is survived by her husband Dan Hodapp, daughter Tatiana, son Alexander, and grandson Malik and "second daughter" Liz; her siblings Mary, Paul, Geralyn and Kathleen; many beloved nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on August 29, 11 am at St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church.
Memorial gifts are welcome to Solar Cookers International or the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
