Philip Huffman Obituary

Philip Lindsay Huffman III

February 12 1950 - January 11 2017

Philip Lindsay Huffman III passed away at the place he loved the most, on the island of Kauai.
Lindsay was born on February 12th, 1950 to the late Dr. Philip Lindsay Huffman Jr. and Ruth Dudley Huffman. He attended Selma High School, then University of Pacific, and then the Academy of Art in San Francisco. He is survived by his devoted wife Ethelynne Huffman, loving son Philip Lindsay Huffman IV, mother Ruth, sister Kristen Elder, as well as step children Jerelina, Fara Jane, Louella, and granddaughter Arabella.
Lindsay worked in Architectural Photography before changing career to his passion of woodworking and construction, and created his company Alba Construction. Being a master craftsman who took great pride in his work, he was well liked and respected by his clients, many of whom became family friends. His clients were blessed with never having to find another contractor due to his great skill, attention to detail and friendly attitude.
Lindsay always had an adventurous spirit; regularly travelling, backpacking, scuba diving, always with his trusty Nikon slung over his shoulder. Lindsay was an Eagle Scout, and went on to become an assistant Scout-Master for both Troop 84 and Crew 007, guiding and participating in the numerous outdoor and team activities on his son Philip's journey to his own Eagle Scout award.
Lindsay's sense of adventure, passion for knowledge and travel, and his devotion to his work and business will be missed by all those blessed to have known him. He will forever be one with the island of Kauai, part of the Aloha spirit.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 25th, 2017 at the Outdoor Art Club in Mill Valley from 2-4.

It's amazing after all these years, not having 'Scott' since highschool days, my heart feels the heaviness of sadness at the loss of this man who I and so many others have such fond memories of. Spending four years in band with, going on a church backpacking trip with his mom as my compatriot holding up the end of the line, watching Scott play in 'the rock band'....and so much more. Admired then, and obviously still. Rest in Peace, Scott.

Lindsay was product photographer for Arthur Court Designs for two decades. Photo shoots were always an event to look forward to. He also built Arthur's last 2 homes. Truly a master at everything he did, his work lives beyond his life. Always full of energy and fun to work with.

Lindsay was a person you were fortunate to have know.
