A most amazing man, Dr. Phil, a man who always held a place of awe and respect in my mind as his son-in-law for 17 years. (I could never really get myself to call him "Phil"). I remember the first time I ate dinner with him and his family. He casually describe an operation he had performed that day. No one blinked an eye...except me. They were all used to these stories. I was not. But he also could tell some incredibly funny jokes.
Mostly I remember his integrity and sense of fairness. I've seldom found their equal.
