Ricardo A. Diaz, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, friend, and mentor, peacefully departed this world on November 16, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on September 26, 1942, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ricardo was a man of remarkable integrity and compassion. Renowned for his steadfast devotion to family, generous spirit, and unwavering commitment to living an honorable life, he embodied the essence of kindness. In 1968, he journeyed to the United States with his engineering diploma, exemplifying the American Dream.
He studied at Universidad Católica de Córdoba, renowned for its Jesuit excellence, and later earned master's degrees in electrical engineering and business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
For 55 years, Ricardo was Cristina's devoted husband, embodying love and respect. Their bond was anchored in mutual trust and joy. As a father and grandfather, he gently guided his children and grandchildren, instilling in them the values of hard work, integrity, and generosity. Though far from Argentina, he maintained deep-rooted family connections, ensuring that love transcended borders.
Living by a strict moral compass, Ricardo eschewed excess and treated everyone with grace, regardless of status. Cristina reflected, "Though seldom emotional, his kindness drew people to him. Despite success, he treated others as equals; his caring nature made him loved and respected."
Professionally, Ricardo epitomized the American Dream. His unwavering dedication and tireless work ethic allowed him to retire comfortably, yet his passion for leadership never waned. He continued to guide various startups and business endeavors, driven by a desire to inspire others. He cherished his family and core principles.
Ricardo was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jose; and his devoted parents, Daria and Jose. He is survived by his loving wife, Cristina; his sons, Ricardo G. Diaz and Luis A. Diaz; and his grandchildren, Juliette and Olivia, who will carry forth his enduring legacy of love, respect, and commitment to family.
A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 300 Fulton St., Redwood City, CA 94062, at 1 PM on Sat. December 7, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health in honor of Ricardo.
Ricardo will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to resonate through the countless lives he touched and the unwavering love of his family. His life is a testament to kindness, respect, and giving more than one takes.
