Richard Ehikian Obituary

Richard George Ehikian

Our dear sweet darling dad, Richard G. Ehikian passed away peacefully July 14th at the age of 94. He was born Dec. 7, 1919. Richard joined the love of his life Dorothy, his beloved wife of 59 years in heaven. He is survived by his loving children, daughter Denise (Dean) Duncan and son Brad (Pam) Ehikian. Devoted and proud grandfather of Lesley Duncan, Shaun (Stephanie) Duncan, Bradley Ehikian and Stephen Ehikian. Great Grandfather to Brooklyn Duncan. Loving brother to Sandy Chenall and brother-in-law of Alice Fathy. Richard will be missed by his many nieces and nephews and their families. Richard was a graduate of UOP's College of Physicians and Surgeons and proudly served in the US Navy Dental Corps during WWII. He was also a 56 year member of the Olympic Club where he played golf three times a week during his retirement years. Richard was most grateful for the friendships he had at the club. Richard's success in his professional life was only surpassed by his love and devotion to his wife Dorothy.

Private services were held pursuant to the family request.

We have lost a Prince of a man. He gave joy to all who knew him and especially to his loving family.

I always referred to Dick as "a prince of a gentleman" and I don't think anyone can deny that. He will be truly missed by everyone. I especially will miss his candidness at our lunches together.

Our family Dentist for years. Impossible not to still remember him when driving past the office, even today. I especially was there a lot due to my sweet tooth. I remember "Mary" his assistant and watching her like it was yesterday. Such a handsome picture you posted of him, he was a wonderful Dentist and we were blessed to have him. Glad to hear of his happy retirement and full life. My thoughts are with you .

I'm so sorry for the loss of your precious father. Dick was a wonderful man...I have only the fondest memories of your elegant mom, Dorothy, and her loving husband always adoringly at her side. The mold was broken with the elegance of their generation! With deepest sympathies (Roxanne Cohn...Lee and Joy Spiegelman's daughter)

Denise, I'm sorry to learn about your Dad but how wonderful to know he lived for 94 years saw your family flourish. I will remember him in my prayers.

I have such fond memories of Dr. Ehickian who treated my Mom, Lucille Diamond, for several years. She would fly out from Florida to see us, and the next stop was Dr. Ehickian! He was a wonderful and warm doctor. We are sorry for your loss.
