Rob Dear,
I just got an email from the amazing Mr. Ken Schroer and he told me that your birthday was 3/19. Rob, I just sat down and cried.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. ROBINSON
Dan has been doing a very large painting of your song "House of Blues" in honor of you. I will have more updates of the picture on his website www.delriodan.us and what a LARGE presence in ALL our lives you will forever be. Through all this hurt of losing you, some good has come my way. I have come to know and love Ken and I get the most wonderful "Travel Tales" from Norval and John who are traveling thru India and Nepal. I have so looked forward to her emails from there and hope that she will consider the production a book out of all these breathtaking words that flows from her soul. Like you, she too is an artist with lexis.
When Ken told me about your birthday, I too, had to come and see what your friends had written and add my own lines. Rob, you had so many dear friends. So many loved you beyond measure and that lonely shadow in my heart will always surround your beautiful spirit within.
Thank you Rob, for being tolerant of my blunders, for holding my hand when I needed a friend, and always, for loving Dan and I as you did.
I have nothing but “Tears of Gratitude” in my heart for you.

In 1989 my father Doug Simril passed from this life and on to the next. I was twelve years old then. Rob Robinson took the time and effort to write me the most beautiful and comforting letter. I'm so sorry for the loved ones he has left behind. "He thought the sun rose and set around you." Those were Rob's words to me and I now give them back to you.
With all the love in the world,

Rob’s music met us.
My wife Ute and I enjoyed Rob Robinson’s music around Marin before we ever met him.
I particularly remembered the delightful contribution Rob’s group made at the Civic Center Farmer’s Market. Man did they add flavor and spice!
Then we were introduced to Rob by our good friend, his dynamic sister, Norval, and experienced the twinkle of his soul up close. Cool.
Last Saturday we got real intimate with Rob through another beautiful medium. We played a CD of his music all day with favorite CD’s of our beloved son Billy who suddenly collapsed at age 43 a year ago at the San Francisco Marathon.
Norval said it right, “You can feel them together”.
With appreciation to Rob
and family. Terez and Nico carry Rob’s melodic vibes so well.

Dear Rob,
Your sweet song has ended, but your melody lives on in the hearts of those who love you. We have fond family memories of the joyful times in Aiken with our cousin, your mother, Ogareeta and the happy time we had when we visited with you in the Bay Area. We join NorVal, family and friends in celebration of a life well lived.

Rob I Loved you so much and always knew you were there for me and the family, I could always count on you and I prayed for you every day. My promise to you is that though you don't need them anymore, I will continue to pray for Terez every day. I have not written until now because it has been so much easier to pretend that you were just off on one of your many adventures, I have been waiting for your call.Though I now realize I will not get that call on this side of things, I know you will be there when we get there and we will talk again!I will miss you so much until that time, especially around the holidays. As Sierra said Thanksgivings will never be the same! But I will spend my thoughts of you with Joy, knowing that all my prayers have been answered for you. Not only are you in the most Glorious Place anyone could ever be, You felt that Love, Peace and Joy right here on earth in finding Terez! Thank God, you finally got there, you suffered much! But to those that suffer much, much Joy is given and I will wait for the day of that talk we will have on the other side.
Terez though I never met you I know how much you loved Rob and how much he loved you. You were really used by God to bring him to a place he waited a very long time to be. Thank You, you were truely Rob's Angel and I am so sorry that your time with him on this side was so short, but you will live in Eternity with him, He was your soul mate and when 2 are married in the eyes of God it is for eternity, not just the whisper of this life. As I promised my friend, I will pray for you every day and look forward to meeting you on this side of things. Rob was our family and when he married you you became our family too! We love you because Rob loved you so much and we can not wait to meet you. God Bless Your Every Day!

Rob...the 3 years we were roomates back in my Marin County days were great. We didn't always see eye to eye, but we always worked thru our disagreements effortlessly because we respected and trusted each other. You were an easy guy to respect and equally easy to trust. When Annie called and told me you passed, I've been singing Blue Moon Lady ever since.

Dear Rob,
Thank you for loving me. I truly feel blessed to have had your friendship. 29 years ago I fell head over heels and would have done anything for you, but you insisted I do what was best for me. That was who you were and you will live forever in my heart ...Terez, I know how happy Rob was to be with you. Last time I saw him he promised we would all have lunch. You and I are going to keep that promise. I know he would like that.

I can't quite believe it-it just doesn't seem possible that your smile has been taken from our mortal world. You live on in my heart; your deep, reassuring voice, warm spirit, generousity and gratitude for life's simple but most important gifts. I will never forget your support and love in my difficult times.
Love, Stephanie

Oh
Rob,
How far back we go. We've traveled the streets of Manhattan, the woods
and steams of Woodstock and mellow musical journeys of sunny CA. Jack
and I shared warm momnets with your beautiful sister, Norval, in S.F.
and camping on the Navaro River. I'll never forget those days. They'll
live in me forever. See you on the other side... Play on...

Uncle Rob,
You have brought us so much joy over the years. Thanksgiving just won't be the same without you. It was mine and Skyes favorite holiday just because we got to see you. However we just didn't get to see you enough. Your music moved my soul. Thank you for the song you wrote for me. I don't know if I ever told you thanks but it was the best gift I have ever received. We love you dearly and you will be live forever in our hearts. Love Sierra, Skye, Zack & Seth Vincent.

Hi Rob. I was crushed to hear. We were friends years ago and my brother, Jack, worked with you with Van Morrison and other incarnations. I'll miss you and your wonderful deep voice. I had hoped to meet up with you again some day, but I guess that's not to be. God bless you, brother.

Long lost friend, oh how I wish I hadn't stopped looking for Rob "Bull Dog" Robinson in 2005. If only I had located you before hearing the sad news of your passing. I worked with you over thirty years ago and had always wondered where you were and what amazing things you had accomplished. It is now apparent that I lost a wonderful reunion while located in Seattle for 25 years. Rob, I can still hear your deep voice of reason telling me that "We got it handled". This is a sad day for me and the many who truly loved you.

Terez,
Though you and I have been dear friends for over 30 years, I only knew Rob for a short time, but every encounter was a joy. Our dinner together last NYE was rich with fellowship as Michael and Rob connected in that way only musicians can. We looked forward to many more gatherings and knew that we needed to be patient as the two of you continued to explore your love and friendship in the first year of your marriage. The happiness that emanated from you both was so sweet and so real. Kind, funny, gifted musician (ah that voice), and a true gentleman; Rob was the one. Our hearts reach out to you and the family. Find peace, we love you.

My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Rob and seeing him perform at the Hayward Farmers Market sometime in 2006. When I first heard him singing it reminded me so much of Sam Cooke, it was so soulful. We enjoyed the music so much and bought the CD. We talked quite a bit with Rob that day and really felt connected with him.
The CD quickly became one of our favorites and after a few months I called Rob from the phone number on the web site because we really wanted to see him perform again, with the full band. Eventually he called me back and he remembered Larry and I. Sadly we never got to see him perform again.
I was so shocked and saddened to suddenly come across the obituary in the Chron yesterday. Though I didn't know him well, I could see he was a great person who'd made a fantastic contribution through who he was and the music that he loved.
Sincerely,
Cheryl and Larry Murphy
