Robert Drucker Obituary

Robert Kevin Drucker
09/02/1940 - 11/28/2024
Entered into eternal rest on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024, at the age of 84.

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, teacher, coach, mentor, and friend, Bob was a man of deep faith whose extraordinary warmth and presence touched countless people over the course of his remarkable life.

Born in San Francisco to Joseph and Olga (Francesconi) Drucker, Bob attended St. Anne of the Sunset ('54), St. Ignatius College Preparatory ('58), and, after serving a brief stint in the United States Army Reserve, concluded his education at the University of San Francisco. His "native" San Franciscan upbringing was always a source of great pride and his profound love for the "City by the Bay" will forever be a hallmark of his lifetime.

In 1966, Bob married the love of his life and wife of 58 years, Kathy (Griffin) Drucker, whom he affectionately called "Sissy." Soon thereafter, they moved to Westlake, where they raised their four children, Katie, Molly, Joe, and Chrissy, and became active members of Our Lady of Mercy Parish. Throughout his 55 years as a parishioner, OLM grew to be an immensely special place where he nurtured his faith and forged lifelong friendships.

Bob spent his 42-year career as a US History Teacher, Guidance Counselor, Basketball and Golf Coach at St. Ignatius College Preparatory. His exceptional legacy will live on through the indelible mark he leaves on the SI Community. Along with his family, he would say with certainty that his time at St. Ignatius was his life's greatest gift.

In his retirement, Bob spent his days enjoying some of his great loves: time with "Sissy," daily Mass at OLM, family dinners with his children and grandchildren, playing "9" at Fleming, and spending time with those he loved over a meal at Original Joe's.

Bob's life was one of great example and meaning. He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, "Wizard of Westlake."

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Drucker and Olga Francesconi Drucker; his sister, Norma; and survived by his wife, Kathy; their four children, Katie (Jim), Molly (Greg), Joe (Katy), and Chrissy (Tim); as well as his 12 grandchildren, Kevin, Cara, and Hannah Kohmann, Emma and Sarah Krauss, Ella, Danny, Jack, and Will Drucker and Madelyn, Griffin, and Olivia Luceno, whom he adored.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Ignatius College Preparatory Drucker Family Scholarship Fund or Our Lady of Mercy Parish.

Friends may visit Tuesday, December 17, 2024, after 3:30 PM, at St. Anne of the Sunset Church, 850 Judah Street, San Francisco, where a Vigil Service will be held at 4:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 18, at 12 noon, at St. Anne of the Sunset. Private interment, Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Colma.

My deepest condolences to the Drucker family! I met Mr. Drucker when I attended St. Ignatius, and at one point during those 4 years at SI, he was my counselor. Mr. Drucker was a great educator and counselor who made me feel heard and cared for while at SI. He was someone I truly enjoyed interacting with, I felt like I could talk to him and that he would listen to me with sincerity and an interest in helping however he could. Years later, after graduating from SI and USF, I would often run into Mr. Drucker. We would always catch up, he always seemed interested in what I was up to in my life, and treated my like a friend/peer. He was an awesome man, and he raised a great family, as I am friends with his kids. Mr. Drucker will be missed, but not forgotten. May he RIP and his memory be eternal! To the Drucker family, I will have you in my thoughts and prayers, take care!!

I first met Bob many years ago when our respective teams competed in the annual Jesuit Christmas Basketball Tournament in Sacramento. I´ve seen him a few times over the years since then and we always shared a few humorous coaching stories. He was a great coach and an even better person. Pat and I send our condolences to the entire Drucker family.

Rest in Peace Bob and to his Family...please accept my heartfelt condolences.
Bob was my basketball coach at St Cecilia´s in the 60´s. I later went to Riordan and always remember Bob´s great coaching at S.I. In later years he always greeted me with a genuine smile. He is up there now with so many Bay Area basketball greats who have passed on. Bob will be missed by so many

Wonderful memories growing up as a neighbor living across the street. Playing football, baseball, basketball, and many other games "in the street" in the 40's and early 50's along with your cousins Jimmy & Dennis. May God Bless Your Family...
