Roberta Berteau Obituary
August 12, 1936- November 17, 2016
Roberta passed away peacefully at home on November 17, 2016. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, she graduated from Kaimuki High School. She went to secretarial school and enjoyed a career as a professional secretary. She is predeceased by her first husband, William and her second husband, Peter. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara, Chequita and Arleen, her children, Brendan and Shivaun as well as extended family.Known as "Bobbie" to many, she enjoyed food, talking story and travelling. She moved to the mainland in the late 1950's and lived in the Bay Area for over 55 years. However, she kept the spirit of aloha through her study of hula, Pidgin English and all things Hawaiian.
She was an active member of her neighborhood association, the Alzheimer's Association and the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California.
A family ceremony will take place in Hawaii at a later date. Please consider a donation in her memory to Alzheimer's Association, Northern California and Northern Nevada, 2290 North First Street, Suite 101, San Jose, CA 95131.
