She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hayward and enjoyed participating in Presbyterian Women's Group. She was a long-time member of the Eden Garden Club in Castro Valley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. (Bob) Higgins; her brother David Hagen, and her beloved sister Sally Wharton. She is survived by her brother Harold Hagen and his wife Virginia (Lee); her three sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Karen Higgins, Terrence and Dena (Hermosilla) Higgins, and John Higgins and Lenio Myrivili; her three granddaughters, Joanne Higgins Ensign, Donna Higgins Mayer and Ariadne Myrivili-Higgins, and her six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Victoria and Thomas Ensign, and Grant, Pierce and Clark Mayer.
