Scott Simoni Obituary

Scott Shobar Simoni
Jul 06, 1985 - Jun 05, 2021
Our beloved son Scott passed away unexpectedly at home on June 5th at the young age of 35. Scott was born in Sacramento weighing 9 1/2 lbs., a fact he was always proud of since it was the biggest he ever was in proportion to his age. Scott had deep roots in Sacramento, attending Mariemont Elementary, Arden Middle School, and Rio High School, and his favorite memories were of playing Arden Park soccer and Little League with all his buddies and great coaches. He graduated from Marymount College and Chapman University in Orange, CA, with a degree in Communication Studies. Scott loved his close community in Sacramento. He cherished running into and re-connecting with old friends as well as making new ones, at Ancil Hoffman Golf Course and around town. Scott was known for his witty and funny off-the-cuff humor and could find humor in almost any situation. When you were around Scott you could always count on a good laugh, and this brought joy to a room.
Even as a toddler Scott was outgoing and engaging, always connecting with people around him. As he grew up he forged meaningful relationships with people of all ages and from all walks of life and abilities, and was able to understand the essence of who they were. Scott had a gift for working with autistic teenagers and those with disabilities. He received a recognition award while at Rio High School for mentoring and making a difference in the life of a classmate with autism, and he continued to work with autistic and disabled individuals as opportunities arose during his life.
Scott was also blessed with the gift of empathy. He used this ability to feel what someone else was feeling to deepen his relationships with others and to walk their journey with them. In the words of one of his college friends, "Scott was a rare genuine soul and the real deal".
Scott's light shined brightly and we will love him always and be forever grateful that we were blessed to have him in our life.
Scott will be missed forever by his parents, Janice and Ralph Simoni, his brother Kevin, his Uncle Bob and his family, his Uncle Russ, his Aunt Marianne and her family, his wonderful cousins, and caring extended family. He will also be remembered by his and his parents' wonderful friends, special neighbors, and his second mother and guardian angel, Sandy Rolleri.
A Celebration of Life mass will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Carmichael at 3:30 on Friday, June 25 followed by a reception at Arden Hills Club. All are welcome. In honor of Scott's memory, please perform a simple act of kindness, give an unexpected compliment, or view someone less fortunate without judgement. Scott's family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts for the outpouring of love from this special community.

Scott, As you travel the great beyond be on the look out for Sandra (Rezak) Zabelle, my wife of 61 years who passed on June 6, 2021, the day after you unfortunately were called away from us . She was Bill Rezak's daughter. Sad that you were called away from us so early in life. I know in my heart you are not alone and have a lot of company out there. Some years ago Sandra and me attended a family reunion at your parents home in Sacramento.

I met Scott at Marymount and then we ended up going to Chapman together and rooming for the first year. He was so proud of sac town and the Bay Area in general. I truly didn´t realize there was such a NorCal SoCal rivalry until I met Scott. He was so loyal to the soil of the Bay Area he had to represent it at all times. We stayed connected on the phone and I truly miss talking with him. Much love to the Simoni clan to those I´ve met and the extended group I haven´t. Thanks for shaping Scott and making him a unique and special soul and friend I truly treasure and appreciate

Dear Scott, You were always a really good friend to me. You were a good friend to everyone. I can't believe that you are not here. When I heard your family speak about you, it reminded me so much about what a good and loyal person you are. You are always remembered and I really wish you are still here.

I met Scott at Jesuit, 9th grade. We hit it off immediately citing lines together from the movie,"Don't me a menace in south central." He was always very funny and witty. We continued our friendship through out high-school together at Rio Americano. Recently I got to play around of golf with him in February. It was wonderful seeing him and reminiscing about all the fun times we had. Your in my heart. I will truly miss you and that warming smile.

I met Scott at Marymount College. He was a good friend and someone that I always had a good laugh with. Scott was the type of guy that you always wanted to be around. Like others have mentioned, he really was a genuine person and cared about others. You could easily see that and I am very blessed to have met him. Rest In Peace my friend.
