Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her family; sons Bob (partner Jennifer) and Peter (Jackie), daughter Florian (Brun), grandchildren Michael, Katarina, Alexander, Alexa (Arthur), Stephanie, Nicholas, Jasmine, Jhett, Caitlin and Meghan. Sophia was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Austin. She is also survived by her sister Irene, many nieces, nephews and relatives in Greece. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael, parents Stylianos and Ekaterina, and her siblings Antonea (John), Helen (Tom), Pete (Sophie), Spiro (Marie) and Michael (Merlene).
Born in Helper, Utah, she eventually relocated to San Francisco where she met the love of her life Michael, whom she married on October 5, 1955. They bought their first home in Millbrae in 1955 where they settled down to raise their family. She was a long-standing member of The Church of the Holy Cross, Philoptochos, and ORA and volunteered for the annual Greek festival at the church. Sophia will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, always supportive of her husband's and children's endeavors, and for the many wonderful family gatherings at her home spoiling them with her delicious meals and baked treats.
Friends are invited to attend a Trisagion service at 7pm on Thursday December 5, 2024 at Sneider & Sullivan & O'Connell's, 977 S. El Camino Real in San Mateo. Funeral services and internment will be private.
Contributions preferred to The Church of the Holy Cross in Belmont.

Thea Sophia was a true Thea all the way. Always a warm smile, a genuine interest in our family and offers of friendship . She was a truly tireless friend of my mom who was comforted by Thea during her many visits during mom´s final year.
Our condolences to Bobby, Peter and Florian and their families. Heaven will be an even nicer place with Thea Sophia.
