My condolences to Sister Jo-Anne's family and to the Daughters of Charity community.
Sister Jo-Anne was my 7th Grade Teacher at Marian School, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish in 1969. We knew her as Sister Marcia then.
If not for her support and her prayers, who knows where I would be today. I was a troubled youth and Sister Jo-Anne looked out for me. Through her support and efforts I was allowed to graduate from Marian School. About 20 years ago I reconnected with Sister Jo-Anne. During a difficult period in my life about 11 years ago, I asked Sister Jo-Anne to keep me in her prayers. She said that I had been on her permanent prayer list since 1969.
We emailed and texted on holidays and spoke on the phone a few times per year.
Our last conversation was about mid-February of this year. I'll miss our conversations and her annual Christmas Cards with an overview of the year. She saw the good in a person and had a way to connect with young people. She will be missed.
Eternal rest grant unto Sister Jo-Anne, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.

I attended Notre Dame Catholic School in Price, Utah. Sister Jo-Anne was the principal for many of the years I was there. May her memory be eternal. "Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon her". Thank you to her family for sharing Sister Jo-Anne with us, for so many years!

Sr. Jo-Anne was a much-loved educator at Cathedral High. Her sense of humor was legendary, and her warmth unparalleled. She embodied the very finest tenets of the Daughters of Charity.
Rest easy, Sr. Jo-Anne. My prayers are with your family. I appreciate all you did for Cathedral students and faculty.
