How very saddened I was to hear about Stephen. I spoke to him in May (the day before I retired) just to let him know what a pleasure it was to have worked with him at GE. I did have the opportunity and privilege of meeting Stephen on a couple of the GE Business trips. We also spoke often on Receivables during his 4 years with GE. He was always uplifting and a pleasure to talk to. My prayers are with all of Stephen's family and friends who will miss him so much. May God give you comfort and peace at this time.

I had the honor to know Stephen since I was hired by GE Jan. 2005. He was temporarily helping out with the Northwestern Properties and was ready to hand them over to the new guy. He drove me around Washington and Oregon visiting many sites, talking to managers and giving me the detailed history of each property always encouraging me to go over and beyond the call of duty. The one thing I will never forget about Stephen was his ability to have me laughing to the point of tears. We started out as colleagues and soon he became a mentor and friend. The ceremony was very spiritual and honored Stephen respectfully for who he was. Its encouraging to know that Stephen was following his dreams when the lord called his spirit. God bless you family.

To the Tom Family and Friends,
I am so sorry. There are simply no words that could fully convey the feelings of loss I share with you. I had both the privilege and pleasure of both knowing and working with Stephen. His energy level, engaging personality, caring and kindness, collaborative teamwork, and razor-sharp intellect were the hallmarks of his success. He was indeed to me a valued friend and colleague. I am fortunate to have many memories of Stephen and believe that his presence in my life has made me a better person. I thank him for this.
Your son, brother, friend has left a huge void in this world but rest assured his fingerprints on so many of us, which I am sure is no surprise to you. God blessing you all.

I send my heartfelt condolences to the entire Tom family, and to his GE colleagues. I was just in CA on vacation this past week and was in complete awe of the sheer, vast beauty of the area. I can see why he had such a love of life and the outdoors. Although I only had the opportunity to meet Stephen in person once at GE, he made a great first impression. May it someday comfort you to know that he was doing what he loved to do in life…LIVE! God bless you and give you peace!

How sad it was to hear about Stephen. I worked with him at GE for about four years and regret that we never met. He was appreciative of everything I did for him, even the small stuff. He had a positive outlook and pleasant disposition. He is gone but won't soon be forgotten. May God's love help you through this difficult time.

I was very saddened to hear of Stephen's passing. I worked with Stephen on our Oakland, CA property. What I loved about Stephen was his passion for doing the right thing and holding others to the same standard. He was very detailed oriented and when asked to complete a project he gave it 100%. Stephen will be missed very much. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I have such fond memories of coming both to the house and visiting with Stephen and the whole family and spending wonderful times at the cabin. While we all are still shocked, hurt and miss Stephen so terribly now, there is comfort to be found in knowing he is with our Heavenly Father and we will all see him again someday. God Bless all of you. You are in our prayers.

My heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to the entire Tom family. I had met Stephen a few years back during a GE Quality course in Crotonville that I happened to be instructing. Soon thereafter, we were part of the same team working for Bob Palame's organization. During this short period of time it became evident to me that he took great pride in whatever he chose to do, he was outgoing, assertive and always saw the glass as half full. May each of you find comfort in knowing that so many are praying for you during this difficult time.
God Bless,
Michelle McGlothlin-Williams

Dear Tom family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I met Stephen at 24 Hour Fitness in San Pablo, where I first started out as a Group Exercise Instructor. He was always so encouraging during my classes and pushed me to my fullest potential as an instructor. Always willing to lend me advice and get to know me on a more personal level, he will most definitely be missed, not only by me, but by other gym members. My most memorable moment with Stephen, was during my first Christmas holiday as an instructor. He gave me a Christmas card and thanked me for my contribution to his fitness goal. It touched me in so many ways, as I am sure he touched so many other people during his time here on earth.
God Bless,
Gina Fernando

I first met Stephen when he interviewed for his position at GE. I sensed then Stephen's magnetism toward life & those around him. Stephen pursued his work with profound interest & enthusiasm. He always brought reality back into stressful situations with boundless humor & laughter, thereby energizing those around him to work together & solve the challenge at hand. Stephen will truly be missed here at GE. I personally take great comfort from knowing Stephen and am grateful to have been given the opportunity. May Stephen’s family and friends find comfort in knowing he is at peace with our Lord.

Dear Friends and Family,
I am so incredibly saddened by this loss of someone whom I felt as a wonderful colleague and friend. Stephen and I had a fun exchange the day before he embarked on his adventure climbing Mt. Whitney. He joked that climbing a 14teenner was nothing for those of us who lived in Colorado, but had been a personal goal for him. Stephen and I had been working on a project together for the past year and spoke daily, so in that time, more then the prior years, we'd developed a friendship and respect for each other as we lived through all the in/outs that these kinds of projects can and will challenge you to task. He, in his life, laughter and genuine sincerity have been in the forefront of my mind since I heard the news. My peace lies with knowing he was having a true adventure with smiles to go with when this happened. My prayers are with you all.

Although I never met Stephen in person, I believe I got to know him via telephone calls and emails well enough to appreciate his fine person. We worked together at GE. He on the West Coast, me on the East. Sometimes our superiors at GE would confuse us in emails. We ended up signing our emails with our last names in all capital letters to assist the readers. It was a small way to add humor during our business day.
I wish to express my most sincere condolences to the entire Tom Family and Friends.
Stephen TOM blessed us with his presence for too short a time here on earth, but will remain in our memories forever.
Peace To All.

I met Stephen when he started working at GE in Concord CA. Stephen and I worked together planning some work at an older GE facility in Oakland. Stephen and I both grew up in Oakland. As a matter of fact we lived close together but never met. We enjoyed comparing notes and laughing about our experiences in Oakland. Stephen was a great person. He did his job very well and was always pleasant and cheerful. We discussed many things together. My heart goes out to the entire family. I am very sorry for your family’s enormous loss. Stephen will be missed but never forgotten. Stephen will live on in our hearts and in our minds. May you find comfort knowing he is now at peace with our Lord.
