Dear Family,
Colonel Wilson was an inspiration to all of us at VA Medical Center, San Francisco, CA. I am thankful my son, Christopher McGill, had the opportunity to hear and meet Colonel Wilson during his Black History Month presentation several years ago. At that time Chris was enrolled at Embry-Riddle Universtity working on his aviation/pilot degree. Whenever I saw Colonel Wilson in the hospital cafeteria or the Canteen store, he would ask me about Chris. About two months ago I had the opportunity to share with Colonel Wilson the good news--Chris graduated and was able to secure his first job as a professional pilot with a cargo company.
Although Colonel Wilson had to contend with serious medical conditions, he never complained about being sick or frustrated. He always gave thanks, talked about how good his life had been, and how much he loved his beautiful wife. I will miss him dearly.
Sincerely,
Joyce Lewis Barrett, VA Attorney

Now our sweet angel has wings, just like he did when he flew in WWII. The world is lessened by his absence and Heaven is a better paradise by his presence. Col. Wilson is indeed a sweet angel. I feel blessed having known his gentle soul.

Col. Wilson was a dear man and a patient from whom I got more than I gave. He taught me so much that I have passed on to my patients, colleagues, friends and children.
