Thomas Carrick Obituary
September 11, 1946 - October 26, 2022
Thomas F. Carrick III , 76. Tom passed away peacefully on 10/26/22, at his home in Burlingame.
Tom was born on 9/11/1946 in San Francisco to Thomas F. Carrick Jr and Betty Jean Jungblut. He graduated from St Ignatius High School and continued his education at Seattle University. After graduation, he served as a Lieutenant in the United States Army as a Tank Commander. He worked for the San Francisco Tax Collector Office for over 30 years. Tom was an avid collector of model trains and planes. He also had a large collection of books and memorabilia on planes and trains. Tom is survived by his cousins, Clint Van Ostrand, KT Thompson, Dr Gigi Van Ostrand and Donna Fletcher.
There will be a private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma
Donations in his memory can be sent to the Purple Heart Foundation.

A great young man and a fine classmate. Memories of swimming at his grandmother's home in the summer. His insight and action saved me from suffering the extremely serious consequences of my doing something very, very stupid....possibly life saving. My thanks to him better late than never. May, 2024. Sixty years since our high school graduation. Thank you, Tom.

To my Godfather, Tom: You were quiet, reserved, introspective and private. But throughout the years, you have always been so kind, gentle, caring and thoughtful. You were a man of character and integrity. I will miss our conversations. I am glad you are with Grandpa and Grandma now and I know they will take good care of you. I will miss you, Tom.
