Victor Levi Obituary

Victor A. Levi
November 21, 1933 – June 3, 2021
With sadness, we announce the passing of Victor A. Levi of Larkspur on June 3, 2021. Vic is survived by Linda Carol Levi, his wife of 46 years; son and daughter-in-law, David and Montserrat Levi of Novato and son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Shawna Levi of Tiburon together with their daughter, Alexis Morgan Levi. Vic is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Adelheid Levi and many nieces and nephews.

Vic received a B.S. in Accounting from Miami University in Oxford, OH in 1955 and a Juris Doctor (1965) and MBA-Taxation (1973) from Golden Gate University, San Francisco. He practiced as a CPA his entire career beginning in Chicago and following his 1960 move to the Bay Area. In 1988 he formed an accounting firm specializing in litigation support services to attorneys and their clients. The firm, Levi, Jones & Bertozzi dissolved in the late 1990s as Vic prepared for retirement. He continued to practice until age 72 when he retired.

Vic was a true pioneer in the area of forensic accounting. During his long and successful career, he represented many high-profile clients in family law and other legal proceedings. He developed a reputation as being one of the most respected and sought after expert witnesses in the Greater Bay Area. Vic was also a frequent presenter at various Bar and CPA society conferences and generously shared his time teaching others, including teaching taxation at Golden Gate University. Vic also thoroughly enjoyed mentoring his staff and employees over the years; following his retirement, many of his former employees ventured out and started their own forensic accounting practices.

After retirement Vic became a student of the literary works of William Shakespeare which provided much enjoyment and mental stimulation in his later years.

Vic and Linda met in the elevator at 111 Sutter Street, San Francisco in 1973. Vic's avocation was planning fabulous travel adventures and they enjoyed many sailing trips to Greece and Turkey, narrowboat holidays in England, African safaris and adventures in Southeast Asia. Always returning to Napili Bay to their condo at Hale Napili which was the site of many, many family and extended family vacations for over 50 years.

Vic also shared his time with Aid to Retarded Children/Citizens, Big Brothers, Camp Tawonga, Sterne School, Marin Shakespeare, the American Cancer Society and the Larkspur Marina POA.

At Vic's request, the family has elected against any memorial service. Memorial donations can be made to By the Bay Health (formerly Hospice by the Bay) www.bythebayhealth.org, 17 E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Larkspur, CA 94930.

Vic was always a lion in the profession. Proud and respected. I enjoyed practicing with him and found that he always had great instinct as to how to conduct a review of complex case data. Rest In Peace, Victor.
