Vincent van Dillen

A beautiful memorial service was held for Vincent van Dillen on December 2nd in Annapolis, Md. Vincent passed away on November 26, 2023, at the age of 42.
Vincent was born on February 19, 1981, San Mateo, Calif., to his loving parents, Erik van Dillen and Lailee Bakhtiar. He was raised in Hillsborough, Calif., with his sister, Soraya Coppolino (van Dillen) and brother, Hague van Dillen.
He was a graduate of Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Va., and co-captain of their Varsity Squash team, and a Latin Honors student. He graduated with academic honors from Menlo College in Atherton, Calif., with a BS in Business Management.
Vincent was a person of integrity, love, and generosity. He had a warm smile, happy disposition and always felt grateful for his many gifts. He was deeply spiritual and would remind people to be "sure to visit the Lord" each day. He had an extraordinary laugh, a great sense of humor, and loved nothing more than to spend time with his large family. Vincent had an uncanny ability to leave a positive lasting impression on everyone he met.
He was an avid learner, passionate about education, and always in pursuit of his next degree or certification. He was a talented athlete and enjoyed all racquet sports and played several sports: tennis, squash, golf and pickleball. He grew up playing tennis at the Peninsula Tennis Club in Burlingame, and most recently became involved with the US Naval Academy's squash community in Annapolis, Md.
Vincent is survived by his mother, Lailee Bakhtiar, Annapolis, Md.; his father, Erik van Dillen and stepmother, Barbara van Dillen, San Mateo, Calif.; his sister, Soraya Coppolino, (Stephen), Bethesda, Md.; and brother, Hague van Dillen (McKenzie), Seattle, Wash.; his stepsiblings, Jack Brookes and Hadley Brookes. He will be missed by his five precious nieces and nephews.
Vincent's memory will be forever in the hearts of those who loved him so deeply.
