Hi Dad , I already miss going downstairs to your apartment for my daily visit with you. You always greeted me with a big smile and thanked me for stopping in to see you. You were such a gentleman ! I don't think I ever heard you say an unkind word about anybody . Your elegant style and great sense of humor were gifts that you gave the world and our family. We will miss you always but know that you are finally with "the blonde" and Yvonne up in Heaven. I love you, Moira

Papa Vin, where do i start... he has been like a father to me for almost seven years. Although I was the one taking care of him, he has blessed me and my wife more with his kindness and love. He will always be in our memories, always be remembered. He has shared countless happy moments, we will always remember him singing his favorite tune " tea for two, for me and you.." or sometimes while waiting for his breakfast , he'll burst out " ...no bananas today!" We will remember his voracious appetite that never failed to amaze us and still ask for more ice cream with cookies! papa Vin, we will miss you terribly but we know you're in a better place now. I will miss our walks and our talks, our drive-around the city with you being our tour guide. Thank you for being a part of our life papa Vin... See yah mañana!

Dear Papa Vin,

At 13 years old, I had to write my high school admissions application on the person I admire, and I wrote about you. Your incredible resilient attitude after Granny Dots, your wife of 50 years died, struck me. By the way, I ended up being accepted to that high school so you were a good person to choose for my essay!

Your saying "See you on campus" you would say to me and to all of us with whom you chatted. I remember you always read a lot of hard back books too. You liked antique furniture. You liked to talk to the girls! These are just a few memories of you that I will cherish. You kept your mind and body alert and walked every day until your last days. When I think of you I just remember how even tempered you were too. I could come to you with a problem and you would never lose your cool! Most of all, you loved your family.

I will miss you dear Papa Vin. Thank you for being a wonderful grandfather and role model.

Love,
Meaghan, your grand daughter
