VIRGINIA RUGGEIRO Obituary

Virginia Lee (Griffin) Ruggeiro February 1, 1931 - April 15, 2012 Virginia was born in San Francisco to Robert Griffin and Mary (Marsh) Griffin. She was the third of five children. She attended Presidio Junior High School, Lowell High School, and the City College of San Francisco. Go Niners! She worked in retail at the H. Leibes and G.E.T.S. stores. She was married for fifty-nine years to her husband, John and she was a thirty-three year resident of the town of Atherton. She was an inspirational advocate for the town serving in many capacities and was a member of the Atherton Dames. Besides her husband, John she is survived by her children, Paul (Elena) Ruggeiro, Nancy (George) Daum, and John (Diane) Ruggeiro. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Justin, Tina, and Jeannine Ruggeiro, and Kelsey, Courtney and Maddy Daum. Her grandson, Joshua Ruggeiro predeceased her. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the Church of the Nativity, 210 Oak Grove Avenue, Menlo Park at 11 am. Reception to follow after the services. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
