Pauline A. Cantwell

Waddington: Pauline McNulty Cantwell, age 99, died peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Ogdensburg, NY. Mass will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church in Waddington with Rev. Gary Giroux presiding. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Pauline was born January 23, 1927, in Hanover, NH to the late Hugh and Miriam (Campbell) McNulty. She attended Waddington Schools, graduating high school as Valedictorian. She earned her Master's Degree in education from California State University, San Jose, in 1972. Pauline married Ed Gunderson in Atherton, CA in 1966. He predeceased her in 1975. In 1991, Pauline married Sid Cantwell in Palo Alto, CA. Sid predeceased her in 2015.

In addition to her parents, Pauline was predeceased by her brother John and Robert McNulty and nephew David Hovey.

Pauline is survived by her stepchildren; Cathy, Robert and Ed Gunderson, her sister Margaret Eick and niece Joanne Smith and nephew Frederick Hovey. Pauline lived a very rich life with prodigious travel, entertainment and active involvement in bridge, swimming, tennis and charity.
