Lisbon: Almeda Cora Larock, age 95, passed away early Thursday, October 2, 2025, at her home. There will be no public calling hours. Graveside service will be held at a later date in Scotch Presbyterian Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Phillips Memorial Home,
Waddington, NY. Funeral service will be held on Saturday 25th of October 2025, at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Waddington with The Northern Star Auxiliary, holding a prayer service prior to the funeral services with Pastor Donna Fitchette officiating with refreshments and memories to follow.
Born on December 7, 1929, in her childhood home in greater Waddington the daughter of Ray and Cora (Dow) Kentner, she attended Country School No. 2, Chartland District and graduated from Waddington High School, class of 1947. After high school, Almeda attended business school in Ogdensburg. She married Junior F. Larock on May 26, 1948, at Nevin Memorial Church in Lisbon, he predeceased her on February 1, 2006.
Almeda worked for 26 years at St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center and five years at Joann Fabric's. She always loved working with people.
Almeda's hands were always busy with reading, sewing, gardening, quilting, traveling, and cooking for her family. Her epic holiday meals will be missed, and her quilting skills were legendary. Almeda was a member of Waddington Rescue Squad Auxiliary, the Point Rockaway Sewing Circle, O.E.S. Fulton Chapter, and Seaway Senior Citizens. Almeda enjoyed her many trips to Irland and California with her good friend Laura Grant, as well as Spain, France, New Orleans and Florida. Always organized and up for a good laugh, Almeda kept a file with a stick figure kicking the bucket, complete with instructions for her children-because, as she put it, it shouldn't all be sad.
Almeda deeply cherished her family and is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Maza, and her late husband Enrique of
Massena, NY; four sons: Ronald Larock and his wife Debra of Fairhaven, MA; Maurice Larock and his wife Rose of
Waddington, NY; Guy Larock and his partner Brian of New Bedford, MA; and Gregory Larock and his wife Sandra of
Waddington, NY. She is also survived by six granddaughters: Wendy Maza, Michelle Larock, Jolen Larock, Grace Larock, Christina Carabineris, and Caitie Carabineris; eight grandsons: Dean Maza, Philippe Larock, Joseph Tisdale, Junior Larock, Jase Larock, Coby Smutz, Jordan Sharlow, and Garrett Sharlow; as well as great-granddaughters Aliccia Dillon and Leah Pike, and great-grandsons Vincent O'Brien, Zachary Friess, Michael Friess, Ryan Pike, Jamie Larock Anthony Vuolo, and Gavin DeSouza. Almeda was predeceased by two brothers, Ray and George Kentner, and her sister Alice Putney. Memorial donations in her honor may be made to the United Methodist Church of Waddington, P.O. Box 445,
