Waddington: Gerald C. Pemberton, age 76, passed away on Thursday, August 14th, 2025, at the Alice Hyde Hospital, in Malone. There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at the Waddington American Legion Post No. 420. A Graveside service will be held privately, and at the convenience of the family.

Gerald was born on April 24, 1949, in Massena to the late Robert and Viola (Mitchell) Pemberton. He attended Madrid-Waddington Central School and graduated in 1968. He married Emmy Lou Buckley on August 2, 1969, and she predeceased him on October 19, 2006. Gerald is survived by a son Joe and his wife Karen Pemberton, a daughter Sharrah and her husband Tony Bogart. A niece Laurie Fox Muldoon and husband Jared Muldoon and their daughter Aristyn. He is also survived by his two beloved grandchildren Emma Rose and Robert Joseph Pemberton.

Gerald started operating GT Speed Shop out of his garage in 1974, retiring in 2010. He had a passion for boat racing. Whether it was driving, working on the motors or helping his son and friends. He made lifelong friendships with so many over the years. The only thing he loved more was his family, especially his grandchildren. Gerald also spent many years helping his community as Deputy Mayor and served on many boards for various things.

In addition to his parents, He was predeceased by a sister Peggy L. Fox on August 7, 2011.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to all the staff at The Alice Center for their outstanding care and love for their Ger Ber. You were more than just staff to him and his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be shared with the Waddington American Legion Post No. 420 and the Alice Hyde Assisted Living; 45 Sixth Street, Malone, New York 12953.
