Vivi Hofler Obituary

Vivi Hofler Vivi was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 25, 1938. Her father, Jens, mother, Vera, brother Edmond and she moved to Montréal, Canada and then to California, where they settled in Burlingame. After retiring from the city and county of San Francisco she enjoyed bussing to museums as a patron of the arts and sciences. She loved the opera and the symphony. She was also a world traveler who enjoyed returning to her Danish roots as well as to other European countries. Most in life though, she enjoyed the simple things; a nice dinner; a walk; a cup of coffee and a pastry with her family. She loved to go to Justin Herman Plaza for the lighting of the tree every Christmas. She passed away peacefully in early January at her home in Pacifica of natural causes. She is survived by her younger brother, Edmond Hofler; her nieces Kristina Hofler and Patty Gonzales; nephew, Michael Hofler; three great nephews and six great nieces. Despite her reserved demeanor Vivi loved people and loved life. She was always there for her family and had a big heart. Those who knew and still love her very much will miss her. Her family will hold a small memorial at Nick's Restaurant in Pacifica on March 29 at 2:00 pm. We know that on her daily walks Vivi would walk past the senior housing in Pacifica and had made some new friends this way.
