Vivian Rodriguez entered into rest on February 17, 2026, at the age of 91, in Millbrae, California. Beloved wife of the late George "Eddie" Rodriguez, Vivian is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Ellis and Raylin Ferris; her embraced son, Angelo Espinoza; her three grandchildren, Nichole Villeggiante, George Ellis, and Adam Ferris; her three great-grandchildren, Vincenzo and Gino Villeggiante, and Maya Lupe Ferris; her beloved dog, Penny; and a devoted running community.
Born in Hawaii and raised in San Francisco, Vivian's early years forged her fierce independence and enduring grit. She worked alongside her mother at Club Caribe, labored in the Gilroy fields picking fruit and vegetables, and cracked crab at Fisherman's Wharf. She later spent many years at Lucca Packing Company in South San Francisco and served as a beloved cook at Spring Valley Elementary School in Millbrae. Vivian was also a remarkable ultramarathoner - a proud member of the DSE and Pamakids running clubs - who set and held multiple records in 50-mile and 100-mile races.
Married for 74 years, Vivian and Eddie built a home that became the heart of their family - where music filled the rooms, card games stretched late into the night, and her Puerto Rican cooking gathered loved ones around a full table. Vivian lived boldly, loved fiercely, and leaves behind an enduring example of strength, honesty, and unwavering devotion to family.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, March 1, 2026 after 2:00 PM at CHAPEL OF THE HIGHLANDS, El Camino Real at 194 Millwood Drive in Millbrae, with a Vigil Service at 4:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Saint Dunstan Catholic Church in Millbrae. Committal will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma.
