I would like to also share a happening. The reason Werner and I connected was that, somehow (I can't even remember how.) I had his wife Eva's address in an old address book. When I moved to San Francisco to serve St. Matthew Lutheran Church I googled the name and phoned. Werner said: "Eva must have done this (she was deceased already)." I told him that God the Holy Spirit must have wanted us to meet. All I can say is: "Such are the mysteries of life." One day we will find out why.

My sympathy goes out to Werner's family. I had the privilege of knowing him from early 2004 to late 2007. He invited me to his home and then to the retirement centre. I treasure the memories of those friendly encounters.

May the God all comfort strengthen the entire family during this time of sorrow. Those who die God keeps in his memory because they are precious in his eyes. (Psalms 116:15) My sincerest sympathy.
