Nov 17, 1923 - July 6, 2013
William (Bill) Thomas Gee passed peacefully at home in the arms of his son, Kirk T. Gee on July 6, 2013 at the age of 89. Born on November 17, 1923 to Gee Hoy Nok and Gee Wong Shee in Canton, China. At the age of 5, Bill immigrated to America where he attended Marina Junior High School, Polytechnic High School and then San Francisco Junior College. He also attended St. Mary's Grammar Catholic School for Chinese tutoring. During World War II, he volunteered in the Army Air Force as an Pre-Flight Mechanic for B-17 and B-24 Bombers. After the war, he worked in construction as a carpenter and was a welder for Robert Yick in Chinatown. Soon after, he was employed by the City & County of San Francisco as Chief Surveyor for 37 years until his retirement. He had a great passion for cars, especially his 1969 Pontiac GTO. He had a knack for fixing almost anything mechanical and never hesitated to help friends and family, whether it was repairing their cars or installing garage door openers. He was a true jack of all trades.
He moved to Lynden, Washington to be with his son until his death. Bill was a devoted husband to June Gee (deceased) and father to Kirk T. Gee. He is survived by his son Kirk; 2 Granddaughters, Brittany and Kailey; Sister, Aimee Choy Krummenacher; Brother-in-law Curt A. Krummenacher
