Bill passed on Monday, September 19, 2022, at the age of 71.
Loving son of Dominic and Emily, Bill grew up in the Richmond district of San Francisco. He attended Archbishop Riordan High School, class of 1969. He went on to study at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1973.
After working at various locations of Bill's Pharmacy based in Orinda, Bill became the co-owner of Latimer Pharmacy in Antioch. Weekends were spent on the softball fields where he would meet his wife, Patricia "Trish." Bill and the pharmacy sponsored various youth and adult soccer, softball, and baseball teams. He was also an active member of Lions, Rotary Club, and hospice.
After many weekend vacations to Monterey Bay, the pharmacy was sold in 1992, and the family moved to Pacific Grove. Bill became the trusted pharmacy manager at Costco Sand City for over 25 years.
Bill was a man of routine. He loved walking the dogs daily at Asilomar State Beach. He was a season ticket holder of the 49ers, as well as a loyal fan of the Giants and the Ohio State Buckeyes. A cat was often found in his lap while watching games. He enjoyed catching movies at the local theater and reading history and suspense novels. He delighted in playing Santa every year to the grandkids who knew him lovingly as "papou."
Bill was the salt of the earth. He was an amazing storyteller with his booming voice and beaming smile. Bill loved to make people laugh and feel welcomed. At the same time, he was the best listener with endless compassion. He truly had a heart of gold.
He has been and will continue to be missed dearly. Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Trish of 41 years; his children, Robert (Rosanna), Vince and Katina; his grandchildren, Isaiah, Nathan, Aidan, Mikaela, Evelynn, and Levi; his brother, Phillip, and the late Dominic, and their families.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to SPCA Monterey County.
