WINIFRED WILSON Obituary
Winifred "Winnie" Horn Wilson
Peacefully passed away at age 94 on September 23rd in her home in San Mateo. She is predeceased by her parents Katherine and Oscar, and her husband, Charles Frederic, and is survived by her children, Charles, III (Rick), Katherine Prelat (Alfredo) and Mark (Michelle). She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren, Sonia and Andrea Prelat, Jessica Winifred Wilson, and Ian Wilson.
After growing up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, Winnie attended Stanford and graduated from Case Western Reserve in Ohio. She joined the American Red Cross and served four years in the South Pacific during World War II. She enjoyed volunteering at the Jr. Museum at Coyote Point and her membership in the Woodside Garden Club.
Winnie focused her loving care on her children, grandchildren, and her beautiful garden. She relished traveling the world with her ever loving mate of 50 years, Charlie.
A celebration of Winnie's life will be held on Tuesday, October 2nd from Noon to 2:00pm in the Room with a View at the Stratford, 601 Laurel Ave, San Mateo, CA. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Red Cross.
