To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Mike, Dear cousin, you are gone too soon. When I first heard, my instinct was to get angey and question why. But hen, who am I to question God. Maybe he needed your strength up in heaven to help him out. He surely has big plans for you. And while it hurts to have you taken away, I can temper that hurt with this knowledge. Keep an eye on all of us here. Guide us whn we need it, and give us a little shove just to let us know you are there. Take care Cuz! I love you.

Aunt Yolie, Uncle Timmy, Anthony, Victoria, and Raymond; I can't posibly put into words, how sorry I am about Mikes passing. What I can do is pray for all of you, as well as Mike. I can also be an example of love that Mike showed to everyone he came in contact with. And I will ask for his strength and love, and compassion when I need it. He will sorely be missed. Love you all.

To The Trejo Family: Our deepest Sympathy to you. Yolanda, Vicki & Tony. We are so sorry for your lost. We could not believe it when we heard. Just know the people who love and care for you will keep you strong and as time goes by we promise it will get easier. 1 1/2 years later we are still taking it day by day, family keeps you strong. To everyone who has written: it warms my heart to hear all of the wonderful things you are saying about my brother. He truly was all of that and more - a good man with a good heart who loved his son so much that he would do ANYTHING to be with him. Even if it made him unhappy, just being able to be with his son surpassed all joy for him through any situation. There are two things Mike was never without - a smile and Raymond. :-) I'm sure my mom, dad, Anthony, Raymond and Leonard all share in my sincerest gratitude for you all, and in saying thank you for helping us to celebrate and remember Mike - our loving brother, son, and dad. Raymond, mijo, we love you very much and you know your dad did too. You meant everything to him. You are the reason for everything he did in life and the reason why your dad stuck through what he had to stick through these past years - to be with YOU and near YOU always. Know that Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Anthony, Uncle Leonard and I are always here for you no matter what. When Michael passed we did not see his spirit leave his body or where it went. But because of our Faith in God we know where He is now. God has his arm around Michaels shoulders and Michael is telling God everything that happend to him down here. Like a little kid telling his dad about his adventure on a camping trip.
I have not seen Michael since Grandpa Filberts funeral, So I'll remember to give him a Big Bear Hug when I get to Heaven, for lost time.

Aunt Yolie, Uncle Timmy as a Parent I can only imagine your sorrow... Cousins Vicky and Anthony as a Brother I can only imagine your pain... Raymond as a Son I can only imagine your loss..To you all as a Human I can understand the Joy of having someone like Michael in our lives. Don't cry, believe me Michael is crying for us all right now, because we are the ones that are still left here and he is at the greatest place anyone can be. Michael, Grandpa and Grandma are catching up on things right now and they have some help now to watch over us all, and you know how hard that is to keep an eye over our big family.... The greatest gift we hold is our mind which holds our memories and those will never die. So Michael will never leave us, Just close your eyes and he will speak to you.

My deepest sympathy on your loss. I was Mike's manager years ago in NABA. I remember Mike's humor, kind heart and ability. Mike was a truly great person, not just a player to me. I remember his willingness to help, his friendship, his spirit and just his willingness being there for people.
