I was one of the lost little 9th grade souls who Peter Becker took the time to uplift with kind words and a ready ear. Pete was of the sort whose modesty belied his significance, for I KNOW that many hundreds of former students "made it" because HE CARED. Emerson wrote: "To leave the world even a little bit better,... that is to have succeeded." Pete, my dear friend, with warmth, compassion and an inimittable dry wit, you were a light for many who in their difficult paths saw only darkness. May you eternally "be of good cheer."

What a wonderful human being. Mr.Becker was my teacher in high school, truly a crossroads in my life. We became friends and we loaned each other record albums from Count Basie, Joe Williams, Duke Ellington, Cream and Hendrix. Mr. Becker was someone I enjoyed spending time with, and his contribution to my life is profound and significant. I will always remember and miss, a true friend and mentor.

Mr. Becker will be sorely missed by all who knew him. I never had him as a teacher, however I spent many afternoons in his classroom just hanging out and talking with him and other students. I graduated in '68, it seems like a long time ago, yet I recall those afternoons in Mr. Becker's room clearly and with joy.

What a shame. Mr. Becker was such a very kind man. Still in my thoughts after all of these years - after all, he is the reason I was allowed to graduate in 1985. Rest in peace Mr. Becker, we all love you...

I was one of Mr. Becker students. I graduated in 1980 from MHS. I still talk about him today. Great teacher.
