Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night
There are few poems more appropriate to my dad's last few years than Dylan Thomas's plea that his own father should "...Rage, rage, against the dying of the light." Dad refused to accept infirmaties of age. He demanded that his doctors do everything they could to improve his health. He argued constantly with those who urged him to adopt a more sheltered life style. He mainted his intellectual activities right up to the end. The day befor his death, he spent time working on his computer and then had dinner with mother. Shortly after arising Thursday morning, his heart simply stopped beating. It was the way he wanted to go - quick, painless, and without an interminable time of being bedridden and helpless.
Dad, we all miss you so much. Rest in peace.
Love, Peri
