Beatrice Schlafke Obituary
Beatrice H. Schlafke, age 84, of Sheboygan Falls, died on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Pine Haven Nursing Home. She was born in Sheboygan on November 22, 1930, the daughter of the late Herman and Hertha Wilke Gumm.
Beatrice attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School. On May 26, 1951 she was united in marriage to Roger Schlafke in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death in 1983. She was employed at Wells Fargo Bank and Citizens/First Interstate Bank. Beatrice enjoyed traveling and camping. She was also a member of Bethany Reformed Church in Sheboygan. She was a kind and loving mother, her children meant everything to her and she will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her children, Steven (Mary) Schlafke, Jane (Steven) Hermann, Daniel (Debra) Schlafke, Mary (Richard) Heling, Lynnette (Robert) Fritsch, all of Sheboygan; grandchildren, Joshua (Mandy) Hermann, Jacob (April) Hermann and Hannah (Matthew) Hansmann, Danielle (Daniel) Ohl, Dana and Davis Schlafke, Brian (Sarah) Heling, Angela (Matthew) Conrardy, Jessica (Patrick) Krom and Sarah (Craig) Schumacher and Erik (Brenda) Fritsch; great-grandchildren, Ellie and Zoie Hermann, Lucy Hansmann, Breckon Conrardy, Hailey and Colton Schumacher, Lily and Connor Krom, Charles, Kaden and Owen Fritsch; her sister, Geraldine Froh; her brother, Ronald Gumm and her sister-in-law, Betty Schlafke, all of Sheboygan. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a great-granddaughter, Anika Fritsch, a brother-in-law, Kenneth Froh and a sister-in-law, Ann Gumm.
A funeral service for Beatrice will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Bethany Reformed Church, 1315 Washington Ave., Sheboygan with Rev. Philip Rose officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M.. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to staff at Pine Haven for compassion and care that was given to her. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name and may be directed to the building fund at Bethany Reformed Church.
