John Van de Pas Obituary

John P. Van de Pas

Plymouth - At the break of dawn on January 19, 2018, John "Farmer" Van de Pas passed away peacefully with his family by his side.

John was born August 29, 1963 in Sheboygan, WI, a son of the late Cornelius and Martha (Luikx) Van de Pas.

He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1981 as class president.

On October 6th, he was united in marriage to the love of his life Michele Ninnemann. The couple resided in Plymouth, Wisconsin. They vacationed at the family cabin near Armstrong Creek.

He was employed at Plymouth Oil, Rockline, and the Glass Doctor. Besides farming on the family farm, John was an independent contractor in the Plymouth area for many years where he enjoyed working side by side with his many friends in the trades.

John enjoyed playing softball under the lights at Quit Qui Oc and later coaching softball for his son Ben's teams. A father & son team played Fantasy Football in multiple leagues. John loved sports but preferred college sports vs. professional. Mini bowling was also a favorite pastime. John enjoyed everything that brought him closer to the land including farming and hunting. He loved spending time up North with friends at the cabin around the bonfire. Adventures were going to auctions and finding out of the way thrift stores with Michele.

He kept his many friends close and enjoyed socializing. John was the guy that knew everyone, and everyone knew he had the ability to talk to anyone on any subject.

John was honored, humbled, and eternally grateful to be selected as a 2017 recipient of the Plymouth Gift of Life. He was grateful to all supporters of the two "Farmer" softball teams

As I read the obituary I'm reliving time spent with my good friend. I had the good fortune of being a teammate on the "Lost Boys" mini bowling, Glass Doctor softball team, and the " Dutchmasters" fantasy football league. Also enjoyed many nights around the campfire at the cabin by Hilbert Lake. I was able to visit John a couple weeks ago to say goodbye. Rest in Peace my Friend.

Michelle and Ben,
My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. John was certainly one of the friendliest guys I'd met when Jay and I first moved to the area. I'm truly sorry for your loss.
