I just learned of Rick's passing today and wanted, albeit late, to extend my sincere condolences. I met Rick through our many business dealings in the food industry. He was a man of the highest integrity and a true family man. The best there was in business and in life. I am so grateful for knowing Rick.

Words cannot describe the sorrow we feel upon hearing of Rick´s passing. As a person, as a couple and as a family Rick was beyond a special person. He was a light for those to follow in all he did. With his work from the people we know and as a family from what we knew of you ourselves Rick and you brought such a special way about you that was just amazing. Feel some joy in that in your children and with those who knew Rick his spirit and kindness that he brought to this world will always live on. Ricks mark in this world will live on for a long time to come from all of us who grew as a person knowing him and being a big or small part of our lives. We are very lucky to know such a person as Rick. We will see a part of him every time we see you and all your children.

Sheboygan County has been blessed through the generations with a number of true leaders and visionaries, Rick was indeed one of them. He quietly led his business, the community and most importantly his family. He was a true gentle giant, never looking for credit or recognition. While very competitive, he was a true gentlemen. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers go out to the entire Leonhard Family, Rick's many friends, the Viking Masek team, and the entire community as we struggle with the loss of a true giant. We lost a great one.

We have lost an extraordinary young man. As my nephew he was a joy to watch growing up. I'm proud of the man he became. Rick was a devoted father. His "Girls" were his world. He was a respected businessman who touched many lives with his kindness and generosity. Always paying it forward. An example he would want us all to follow. Rick will be missed by family and friends, but never forgotten.....We each have our "special" memories of Rick that we will hold in our hearts forever.

I know of Rick thru his basketball playing days and indirectly thru his work as he was my son Jason's boss. When I came to Sheboygan years ago to work at the former Citizens Bank, I would play pick-up basketball at the Y which is where I met Rick. There was a group of us who regularly showed up to play. You can learn a lot about a person's character in a pick-up game, where there are no referees but much informality. Rick was very competitive, always wanted to win, but never at the expense of having fun and encouraging good play from all on the court. I was near to Rick's height and often ended up trying to guard him. I had to resort to a little pushing, shoving, and holding to keep him from scoring at will. He realized what was going on and we just had laughs about it.
He was a good guy--in every sense of the word. He had to leave this world too soon, but he's now attained what we all strive for.
