Thomas C. Schneider

Thomas C. Schneider, 62, of Sheboygan Falls died peacefully at his residence on Wednesday morning, June 12, 2013.

Tom was born on October 1, 1950 in Sheboygan, the son of Harvey and Elizabeth "Betty" (DeZwarte) Schneider. He graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1969. On July 1, 1972, he married Heather Heinig in Sheboygan Falls. Tom was a cheesemaker with the family business, Schneider Cheese Co. for over 45 years before his retirement in 2003.

Tom was an active member at St. Peter Episcopal Church in Sheboygan Falls where he served on the Vestry, as Junior Warden, Chalice Bearer, and Usher. He was also a Food Pantry volunteer in Sheboygan Falls. Tom enjoyed kayaking, landscape painting, gardening, the outdoors, wine sampling, entertaining, reading and attending his grandchildren's activities. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and looked forward to their annual Door County family vacations.

Tom is survived by his wife of 40 years, Heather; one daughter, Melanie Schneider of Milwaukee; two sons, Derek (Leah) Schneider of Whitefish Bay and Gregory (Heather) Schneider of Sheboygan Falls; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Tyler, Andrew Schneider, Beau Goudreau, and Lily Schneider; his mother, Betty Schneider of Sheboygan Falls; one sister, Mary (Mike) Boll of Sheboygan Falls; three brothers, Jerry (Donna) of Sheboygan Falls, John (Sharon) of Plymouth, and David (Denise) Schneider of Kohler; his mother-in-law, Dona Heinig of Sheboygan Falls; two sisters-in-law, Gwen (Greg) Pribek of Sheboygan Falls and Laurel (Mike) Cizauskas of Newton; two brothers-in-law, Scott (Michelle) Heinig of Elkhart Lake and Kirk (Arlyne) Heinig of Plymouth. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Schneider; one brother, Michael Schneider; one nephew, Ronnie Schneider; and his father-in-law, Grover "Curly" Heinig.

A memorial service to celebrate Tom's life will take place at St. Peter Episcopal Church in Sheboygan Falls at 2 pm on Saturday, June 15, 2013 with Fr. Samuel Nsengiyumva officiating.

Family and friends will gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Saturday from noon until 1:45 pm.

A memorial fund is being established in Tom's memory for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and the Sheboygan County Cancer Care Fund.

The Schneider family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the loving and dedicated care given to Tom and their family.
