Bill Costner Obituary
KINGS MOUNTAIN-Billy ""Bill"" Wayne Costner, age 76, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at Carolinas HealthCare System-Cleveland. Born in Lincoln County, on March 14, 1940, he was the son of the late Addie Lee Costner Pace. Bill was a member of Mary's Grove United Methodist Church where he was a former Deacon. He retired after 15 years of service from North Carolina Highway Department. Bill was proud of being elected to the Board of Directors for the Cleveland County Fair and served on the board for over 30 years. Bill enjoyed woodworking, trains and model cars.
Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jo Putnam Costner; two sons, Tommy Costner of Shelby and Randy Costner and wife Yancie of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Allen Costner and wife Dakota, Josh Costner, Allie Costner, and Evan Costner; a great grandson, Fisher Costner; and his beloved canine companion, ""Olivia"".
A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at Mary's Grove United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles Stevens officiating.
The family will receive friends at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, in the fellowship hall of Mary's Grove United Methodist Church.
Memorials can be made to Mary's Grove United Methodist Church, 1223 Mary's Grove Church Road, Kings Mountain NC 28086.

Jo,
I wish I could be there today for you, but I can't. You've been in my thoughts and prayers and will stay there. I had a different homecoming planned for Bill but our God choose the ultimate and best for Bill. I'm going to miss him so much and I know you will too. Cherish those wonderful memories and I hope you feel everyone's prayers for you.
